HISTORY OF AIIM

2023

  • Previously known as Consensus for Purpose (CFP), AIIM was founded by a consortium of Community Legal Centers (CLCs) who identified the need for a comprehensive, purpose-built, practice management platform designed specifically to service the needs of the CLCs sector. The founding consortium was made up of Marrickville Legal Centre (MLC), the Environmental Defenders Office (EDO), and the Women’s Legal Service QLD (WLSQ) (together, the Consortium).

  • Designed by the sector, for the sector, AIIM is the result of many years of planning and development by CLCs, designed specifically to address the operational needs of the CLC sector. By integrating modern cloud technologies, automation, and optimised workflows, AIIM delivers significant productivity gains and administrative efficiencies for legal practitioners. Unlike generic systems, AIIM was purpose-built with the CLCs sector in mind, ensuring every feature directly supports the real-world challenges faced by CLCs.

2025

  • AIIM becomes the new name. AIIM stands for ‘Advocacy. Automation. Intelligence. Information. Matter Management’.

  • The consortium enters into an agreement with Sharing Minds to take the reins of AIIM. To ensure the long-term survival, sustainability and ongoing enhancement of the platform for the benefit of Community Legal Centers (CLCs) across Australia.

  • Staff from the consortium who have been instrumental in the development and support of AIIM, transfer across to Sharing Minds. Including Meghan Kemp, Jimmy Atkinson and John Griffin.

  • AIIM continues to develop into an industry-leading case, contract, and client management platform designed by and for mission-driven organisations.
